Ms. Tressa Johnson has been with ELMA Philanthropies Services (US) Inc. for 12 years, initially leading ELMA’s humanitarian relief work. Currently the Program Director, she focuses on improving early childhood development and the life outcomes of adolescent girls across Africa. Among her primary activities are developing and updating goals and strategies for those portfolios, developing strategic relationships, sourcing, and managing grants and partnerships, as well as ensuring that learning becomes institutionalized.
Previously, she managed a variety of humanitarian, civil society, and education-related programming for Catholic Relief Services working in Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia. She also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Côte d’Ivoire and in Togo.
Ms. Johnson holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Stanford University and a Master of Public Administration degree from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
