Dr. Getahun Kebede Bantyirga is the Research Lead at the African Centre for Early Childhood Development (AfC-ECD). He holds a BA in History from Addis Ababa University, an MA in Sociology and Social Anthropology from North Bengal University, India, and a PhD in Transformational Leadership from Bakke Graduate University, USA.
With a career spanning government, non-government, and private sectors, Dr. Bantyirga has served in diverse roles, including school teacher, cultural tourism expert, Red Cross professional, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, and media pollster. He has also consulted for private firms and the Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA).
Dr.Getahun’s expertise includes project management, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, research, training, coaching, and team building. At AfC-ECD, he leads efforts to strengthen research continent on early child development in Ethiopia and Africa, emphasizing indigenous knowledge and culturally relevant approaches. His work informs policies and programs that improve the lives of children across the continent.
