The African Center for Early Childhood Development (AfC-ECD), in partnership with the Addis Ababa Bureau of Women, Children and Social Affairs (BoWCSA), successfully trained 961 daycare providers from all 11 sub-cities of Addis Ababa through a large-scale cascading childcare training program. Conducted over two rounds (June 2–5 and June 8–11, 2026), the initiative strengthened participants’ skills in child development, responsive caregiving, early learning, child protection, health, nutrition, hygiene, safety, and inclusive childcare, contributing to the city’s vision of becoming Africa’s leading child-friendly city.
