Ms. Ayelech Eshete

Mrs. Ayelech Eshete is a dedicated public servant currently serving as State Minister in charge of general education at the Ministry of Education of Ethiopia. She pursued her education at the Addis Ababa University, where she earned a master’s degree in public administration. Throughout her career, Mrs. Ayelech has been a strong advocate for the well-being of children, the right and empowerment of women, and the participation of youth. Her experience includes serving as a member of parliament and chairperson of the women, children, and youth affairs standing committee of the House of People’s Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Inter-parliament union of women parliamentarians Executive Committee member, representative of Africa. In addition, Mrs. Ayelech has held various ministerial positions, including State Minister for Human Resources Development and Management, State Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, and State Minister of Women, Children and Social Affairs. During her tenure as a standing committee member in parliament and as State Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, she worked tirelessly to protect the rights and benefits of vulnerable populations, especially children. Mrs. Ayelech has also served on numerous boards and councils, including the health insurance board, the Ethiopia Higher Education Relevant and Quality Agency board, the Pardon Board, the private social security board, the Ethiopian Prosthetic and Orthotic service board, and the National Rehabilitation Commission council. She is currently a board member of Berrhanina Selam Printing Enterprise, showcasing her commitment to making a positive impact in various sectors of society.
